Abstract: This course covers the study of African cultural history and characteristics, arts in pre-colonial times. • It also at the evolution of Africa as a political unit; phenomenon of indigene/settlers and its conflicting outcome as well as traditional concept of trade, social justice, individual and national development. • Moreover, peculiar norms and values, national attitudes and conducts (cult activities and related vices), reorientation, moral obligations of citizens, national values and environmental problems will be discussed. • Particular attention will be on Nigerian local cases.
