Title: Structural Performance Of Lateritic Concrete Containing Plam Kernel Shell (PKS) As A Partial Replacement Of Coarse Aggregate
Authors: Tijani, Suaib Adekunle
Issue Date: Nov-2017
Abstract: Sand has traditionally been used as fine aggregate in structural concrete. It is usually imported from relatively distant places at high costs and this increases the overall cost of making concrete and of providing housing in various Nigeria Communities. This study investigates the performance of 40% of laterite as fine aggregate in place of sand and specifically seeks to determine whether lateritic concrete containing pks would satisfy the minimum compressive strength requirement of BS 810 (997) for use in reinforced concrete works, which is 25 N/mm.
