Abstract: | With alarming issues relating to Adolescents Reproductive Health: knowledge,
attitude and practice, understanding key tissues such as abortion, early/teenage
pregnancy, prostitution/transactional sex, sexual molestation and masturbation
which pose a threat to the adolescents reproductive health becomes essential. This
Study examined adolescents’ knowledge, attitude and practice of reproductive
health in Ado-Ekiti. The study investigated the knowledge of adolescents towards
sexually transmitted infections, examined the attitude of adolescents towards
sexually transmitted infections, evaluate the practices engaged by adolescents that
that can expose them to reproductive health issues and evaluate the Knowledge of
reproductive health and the risk of teenage pregnancy. |
Description: | Multi-stage random
sampling was used for the study, cluster sampling was employed under it, here
secondary schools in Ado-Ekiti were constructed into clusters based on location,
population and type (private and public), out of which six schools were randomly
selected. In each of these schools thirty questionnaires were administered to senior
Secondary school students based on availability method, the out- school
adolescents was selected based on availability and are those whom are not students
but adolescents who reside in Ado-Ekiti. |
