Authors: ORDU, UZOR FRIDAY
Abstract: Counterproductive work behaviour refers to behaviour of employees that harms an
organization or its members; which can be influenced by some psychological factors. The
study examined pay satisfaction, psychological contract and intent-to leave as predictors of
counterproductive work behaviour among non-teaching staff of Federal University Oye-
Ekiti.
With the use of Ex-post facto research design, two hundred non-teaching staffs were
accidentally sampled. Questionnaires consisting of socio-demographics, pay satisfaction,
psychological contract, intent-to leave and counterproductive work behaviour scales were
administered to the participants. Three hypotheses were testedwith multiple regression
and t-test for independent samples.
Result revealed that pay satisfaction and intent-to leave independently predicted
counterproductive work behaviour. (β = -.14, t = -1.98, p< .05; and β=.16, t =2.24, p<.05)
respectively. However, psychological contract did not independently predict
counterproductive work behaviour (β = -.00, t=-0.03, p> .05). All the predictor variables
jointly predicted counterproductive work behaviour (F(3,196; = 3.30, p< .05). Age
significantly influenced counterproductive work behaviour (t= -2.23; df= 188; p<.05).
Findings were discussed in relation to past studies. It was concluded that certain
psychological variables as investigated in the study are relevant in reducing
counterproductive work behaviour among non-teaching staff.

Authors: SANUSI, VICTOR OLUYEMI
Abstract: In understanding organizational behavior, Workplace incivility was assumed to be influenced by delayed salary and perceived organizational support in an organization. An Ex- Post factor research design was adopted for the study while a sample of 152 local government workers completed measures of delayed salary, perceived organizational support and workplace incivility as measured by a well structured self –report instrument. Result of the findings shows that there is a significant difference in the mean scores of employees whose salary payment were delayed (23.90) and those not delayed (20.60) on levels of workplace incivility (t 143= 2.10, P < 0.05).
The study concluded that employees whose salary payments were delayed experience more
workplace incivility than those whose salary payment were not delayed. Furthermore, the
findings also show that there is a significant difference in the mean scores of employees with low (23.95) and high Perceived organizational support (19.23) on levels of workplace incivility (t 142
= 3.13, P < 0.01). In addition, the findings further revealed that salary payment (delayed or not delayed) and perceived organizational support(high or low) do not have significant interaction influence on workplace incivility (F (1) 142 = 0.000, P > 0.05). In other words, both salary
payment (either delayed or not delayed) and perceived organizational support do not
interactively affect workplace incivility. It is concluded that delayed salary, perceived organizational support are highly relevant to an understanding of workplace incivility in an organization. The results were discussed in line with existing literature and recommendations were made.

academic performance among fuoye students. One hundred and thirteen
students of federal university Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Responded to a set
of questionnaires consisting of the measures of the Big Five personality and

method. Psychological instruments were data collection. Data obtained were analyzed using the
statistical package for social sciences (SPSS)Three hypotheses were tested using Two-way

result showed that there is no significant joint influence of gender and self-esteem on self

positive influence on self-disclosure attributes, while gender has no significant influence on self disclosure attributes. Therefore, hypothesis which stated there will be joint influence of gender
and self-esteem on self-disclosure attributes was rejected. The result also indicated that self esteem has no significant relationship with self-disclosure attributes. This suggests that there is
no significant relationship between self-esteem and self-disclosure attributes among undergraduates of FUOYE. The result indicated that there is a significant gender difference on self-disclosure attributes, further analysis suggested that male students displayed significant higher level of self-disclosure attributes than their female counterparts; therefore, the hypothesis stated there will be gender difference on self- disclosure attributes was accepted. It was concluded that gender and self-esteem should be considered as important in intervention programmes of self-disclosure attributes among undergraduates of FUOYE. Abstract: Counselling and psychotherapy are two fields that are often viewed to be the same and used interchangeably. The different definitions on both counselling and psychotherapy are evidences to this fact Efforts will be made in this paper to highlight the different definitions, show the differences and similarities between the two. Examine briefly the various types and approaches of counselling and psychotherapy and their historical background
Description: So often people ask or assume counselling and psychotherapy to be the same. It is very difficult to define counselling and psychotherapy because there is little agreement on the definitions and also on whether there exists any difference between the two. Counselling is a process by which a counsellor provides information and education about a situation and helps the client to an informed choice of what is best to do in their situation. It is a helping process that involves a one to one communication that is aimed at meeting specific needs of the individual (FMHN, 2010). Psychotherapy on the other hand is a process focussed on helping an individual or individuals to heal and learn constructive ways to deal with the problems or issues with the individual's life (Grohel, 2012). It is generally recommended when an individual is grappling with life, relationship or work issue or a specific mental health concern and these issues or concerns are causing the individual a great deal of pain or upset for longer than a few days. Psychotherapy is a frequently used general term in describing the process of treating psychological disorders and mental distress.
