Authors: OYENEKAN, OLUWOLE PETER
Abstract: “The purpose and essence of any Records Management system is the right information in the
right place in the right order, at the right time for the right person at the lowest cost.”- (Baje
1998). For this feat to be achieved, an integrated, highly efficient and effective hospital
management system is needed. With this in mind, a careful analysis of the existing records
management system being utilized by the FUOYE Health Centre was conducted. The findings
showed that the system was highly inefficient- especially as far as retrieval of archival patient
information was concerned. This analysis established the need for a Hospital Management
System (HMS) that would facilitate effective and reliable records management through
automated processes and served as the basis for the research leading to the development of such
an HMS. The Major objective of the project was to design and develop an HMS that would
computerized patient records Management and give direct benefit for the Health Centre in terms
of fast information retrieval, enhanced decision-making (patient diagnosis) whilst avoiding any
confusion that would jeopardize the quality of patient care. The HMS was designed as a standalone
system and implemented using open source solutions that include MS ACCESS as the
database, and Java as the programming language. The system was developed using V-model
software development approach. An extensive evaluation of the project determined that the
project achieved many of its predefined objectives however, the major limitation of the project
was the scope covered. From a proper analysis and assessment of the designed system, it can be
concluded that the system developed is an efficient, usable and reliable records management
system.

Abstract: Computer-based testing (CBT) has emerged as one of the recent
“innovative” approaches to assessments most pursued by institutions, especially
secondary and tertiary institutions. CBT is lauded as the answer to having
cheaper and speedier test delivery for elementary, middle, secondary and even
tertiary school testing assessments which is a programmed computer test.
Computer based test is a form of administering test in which the response
are electronically assessed and recorded
The Major objective of the project was to design and develop a Computer

Abstract: Online refers to electronic learning, it is the acquisition of knowledge and skill
using electronic technologies such as computer and internet based courseware
and local and wide area networks.
Distance learning is one of the most dramatic technology-based changes
occurring in education today. Communication technology enables learners to
receive instruction despite geographic and time disparities that would make
traditional classroom instruction impossible.
Distance instruction is learner-centered—that is, it enables learners to tailor
the instruction that they are receiving to meet their individual needs. Some
distance programs use print media, some use telecommunications, and many
use both, but geographic and time separation of the student and the teacher is
a fundamental characteristic of distance education. Multimedia instruction
with networked computers, video systems, or television may be used to connect
the local classroom to learners at a distance. Satellite, compressed video, and
fiber-optic systems are increasingly used for same-time, different place
education. This approach is also called synchronous distance learning.
Students can also learn at different times and in different places. This
approach is called asynchronous distance learning.

Authors: ADEBESIN, TOBI; Folorunsho, Olaiya
Abstract: Library is a collection of sources of information and similar resources, made accessible to a
defined community for reference or borrowing. Thus the process of handling a library
manually is very troublesome and clumsy. As regards to this point of view, the computerized
system for handling the activities of library management provides a comprehensive way to
lessen physical labour, to reduce complexity of the manual system and soon. This project
work aim to design and implement a computerized library management system. The library
management system was design and implemented using the HTML
language
database. The system was developed using the V-Model software development approach. An
extensive evaluation of the project determines that the project achieved many of its
predefined objectives.
Description: The quest to make life easier and processing faster has led to computerization of various
processes. Computer technology has transformed so many sectors especially the Educational
sector in no small measure. In an effort to foster technology driven education, a Library
Management System has been developed to manage all library operations such as borrowing,

A number of problems associated with student academic record managemen include improper
course registration, late release of students results, inaccuracy due to manual and tedious
3
calculation and retrival difficulties. In most cases the data generated by academic institutions are
usually created in non delineated files for use by different departments/units within the
institutions with the same data appearing on several of these files. This means that a simple
change if address would have to be processed in two and probably three or four places depending
on the number of other files on which these data appears.
The system presents a single platform that will be used to manage and process data for all
categories of students in a seamless and interactive manner. The design technology adopted for
the implementation is a client/server technology with MYSQL as the server technology and PHP
as the client technology. Apache is used as the web server. The data were obtained from the
department of computer science, FUOYE. The developed system has been tested and yielded a
satisfactory result.
